A UNIQUE SOLUTION — ENGINEERED IN FRANCE — FABRICATED IN HAITI

After four years of coordination and planning, the long-awaited footbridge is finally complete. The in-country fabricator had to meet many obstacles: finding materials, customs delays, assassination of the Prime Minister of Haiti, an earthquake, fuel shortages, gang control, pervasive kidnapping, and constant political unrest which continue to threaten the entire country. EARTHQUAKE

COUNTRY CONTEXT

Another massive earthquake struck Haiti on August 14th, this one much closer to Belle-Rivière. Fortunately, due to relatively less development and low population density, B-R did not suffer the massive destruction that affected Les Cayes, a major city 100 miles to the West. As happened following the 2010 earthquake, B-R has become a place of refuge for friends and relatives in the most affected areas.

2,248 Dead; 12,760 Injured
136,000 families affected
